Last day Of this semester

its the last day of the semester and we have lots of students here and some actually want to take a picture with me even though i don't even teach them or know their name!
its great to be a teacher its great to know that even though you don't teach them they still respect you and that really warm the heart and put a smile on my face. Thanks to all my students and wishing you all the best and take care...best regard mr Brian Chang

Protect your PC

for computer safety try out the Returnil softwear it actually copy your entire C:/ drive and load an image of your C :/ driver

so what you do to your PC [deleating or adding files] it will revert to original state on restart. but what I don't like is the fact that it cut you C:/ drive space to half; meaning any free space in your C:/ drive will be split in half or copy as an image so make sure you clean out your C:/drive first before you install this program. its good because you can actually run your system in a isolated state and it reduce wear and tear on your actual C:/ drive physical driver, its also free but with pay upgrade.

next is Sandboxie
unlike returnil it does not copy the C:/ driver but isolate a area to trap the changes you make to your pc like this



so when running this even though you think you copy/download/install or save something but if its run under sandboxie and you did not save the changes when you exit it will erase everything as if it never happen. you know when your program is in the sandbox when there is a [#] infront of the window or program that you run.
this is just wonderful for work in office because i can still use the C:/ drive and at the same time protect my PC from unwanted software files and just to test out a new software.

right now i have Returnil in my Laptop and sandboxie in my office PC. give it a go if you guys are worry about virus/trogen/ adware/ melware and such. wish i knew about these sooner.

picasa movie maker

you can actually use picasa to make a slide show movie with your picture and upload a background music! this can really replace window movie maker for this kind of task. Picasa is quick and easy should try it google it to find out more.

miss Kml and me during CNY 2011

miss KML 2011 OLIVIA VUN KAI LI
she is one of my student she is very smart polite, athletic and beautiful.
so it was a pleasant surprise that she was crown as miss KML 2011
the very first "Miss KML" organized by the Dinamika Unit in KML
she get along well with everyone and is quite popular in kml and was involve with kokom as well so a very versatile person. without further ado here is a photo of me with her during the KML 2011 CNy.

LIp Dub KML the first in Malaysia?

mr Niyo my friend started the idea of making a lip dub and it snow ball in to an English unit or even a college event now. what is a lip dub? google it to find out more but will post the link or final product later. this friday 11/3/2011 will be the day for lip dub.

Muet Ranking

this is the first time we have ranking for MUET and it show us how we did in comparison with other lecturers in preparing students for MUET. although i do have to believe that its not that fair since there are some lecturer that was given more weaker class compare to others who are given some better class but still the result show i Rank 14 out of 20 with an AVG of 2.945 for specific reason i wont be showing the actual number of all my students result but out of 110 students under my guidance 22 students got Band 2 which is very sad they should get band 3 at least. so this will be my KPI. i hope to improve the students result in english and muet especially because it will play a part in their university and later life.
i always believe that i was doing better and was improving my teaching skills but some time its just sad to see my students getting their result and feel sad or even worry. there are times when i feel that my students could have done better if they were under other lecturers guidance and ultimately i play a part in their poor result
but when they get good result i don;t feel i play a role in it. this is the case because it is very hard to improve students with the given time before the MUET. what i feel is that what I can do is to improve the students understanding of the format and requirement of muet how to score and what to look out for. but in term of vocabulary and the command of the language its really up to the students themselves to actually get higher Band like Band 4 or 5 so i do really hope i will be more careful and truly able to help students get band 3 and above no more band 2 if possible. God Willing

Happy Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year 2011 my youngest brother went to Sibu with the in-laws to visit their Grandma. It was a rainy CNY for some part of malaysia with flood and all.
the first day of CNY was clear sky all day but the following day when we wanted to visit relatives it was raining almost all day.

this year I would say is a year of learning for me. I found out that my Great Grandmother from my mother's side is actually a Nyonya from Singapore. and that my youngest aunt who was given away to a doctor when she was a baby because she was sickly, and is now married to an American actually had a baby girl. she is my cousin my youngest cousin that is only like 4 or 5 years old around the same age as my nephew is.

FaceBook is a great place to see your relatives' picture and such.

Ahqim has a great expensive house that i aspired to have someday and Aubrey has grown quite tall
all in all CNY is a time to get in touch with your family and friends in my case mostly with my family member.
it is great to see how everyone is doing and for people like me who is working far away from home it just might be the only time i see my relatives once a year.

3R college LAbuan

our college is going green with 3R reduce,Reuse and REcycle.
we are the first matriculation to do this so kudos to kmL.

OpenOffice

today we start using OpenOffice from our computer
our Microsoft Office was uninstall from our office computer one by one
kind of sad and have to relearn how to use OpenOffice but it should be OK
i have been testing and trying out OpenOffice for some time so shoulod be ok

first day of 2011

Happy New Year now its just 19 more days before I turn 30
new year resolution?
well pay back my uni loan as soon as possible
stay positive and happy plus content with what i have now.
Here is to almost finishing half of my life ...cheers

Comming 2011

When I was young I always thought that i would get marry at the age of 28.
why?
because my dad was married when he was 28.
BUT that was LAST YEAR this Year i am 29 and after hearing the bells of Christmas 2011 is cumming and i will be 30.
man time fly looks like i won't be getting married anytime soon But there are also a lot of thing i thought i will not be doing but are doing today so like they say "you can't always have what you want"
But 2011 will be a Big Year For me the year I star my age with a 30*+
seem that i am getting older and the days and year seem to go by quicker.....

getting a car

Buying a car, finally I am going to have my own car. gone are the days of fighting for a place  on buses. I have been working for 3 years and most of my friends and even my juniors have already bought their car...Big expensive car and i am the only one still without a car so after 3 long years I finally made up my mind to get a car and whats even more interesting is the fact that its a second hand car.  a ProDua kancil 660cc manual car. 

a 5 year old car that belong to a friend of a friend but  look quite new and hopefully will be with me for a very long time to come. I have not been behind a wheel for quite some time so my driving skills is very rusty but hopefully I can still drive decently   

matching cloths

have you ever seen people wearing matching cloths before?

i have seen two girls wearing matching clothes that was meant for boyfriend-girlfriend, guess they did it for fun. too bad i did not took a picture of them as proof last time aw...too bad but here are a few examples of couple with matching cloths.

Today is the second last day of the semester, yesterday students finish their finals and they are free to go home their matriculation days are over. most of them can't wait to go back home and see their parents and family again.
