Bring Back the Old Cartoon we use to watch.

TV3 starting this June school holiday has brought back some new version of the old cartoons that I used to watch as a kid. namely Thundercats at 7pm saturday and Voltron at 10.30 sunday. I see some good time in font of the Tv for me during the week end

Last sunday night

I used to bring my students to celebrate events ( like CNY or after semester result day ) or just a night out for the class to enjoy themselves as a class but this is the first time i have accompany a friend to manjarasa where the students going with us are mostly not my own students but it sure was fun but I did not take that much photo this time around.

It was also the first time I watch a Lipdub video (or any video) projected at the ceiling wall. Had a Great Time Last Sunday night.

some even fainted? how hard is kissing? well kissing foe 2 hour is no fun plus you have to be creative also making it even more challenging.

my first fruit from my students

VENNESA JANE from BP5t35 class of 2011/2012 gave me an Orange today. this is the first fruits given to me by a students, i did not realize it during the time but this is my first gift of a fruit from a students during my teaching years in KML. usually you see teacher in America getting apples from their students, so its just nice to get a present from some one
more so when tomorrow is my birthday=)

Bario on reader digest

France-based natural photography lover Francesco Formisano took his photograph on a trip to Bario, a cluster villages nested in the highlands in the heart of Sarawak, Borneo where the indigenous Kelabit people live. The mother and child shown here are part of a community of Kelabit families who mine for salt in salt springs that lay a two-hour trek away from their homes. Water containing precious mineral salt is dredged up from wells dug deep into the ground, carried in buckets to a small hut and boiled over fires in close proximity until only the salt os left, then packed into the hollow of bamboo shoots cut from the surrounding area. Families stay for weeks at a time, sleeping in the hut with the fire and the smoke. Amidst this setting is this beautiful mother and child, whose deep, sparkling eyes are reminiscent of the waters in mine.

Result's

students result is out where students are worry about their result and teacher are worry of their performance. I do not like the ranking of result to judge which teacher have the Most students scoring A's and who have the most failure.

you feel bad when you can not help students score high grade yet if you have student's scoring well it give you pressure to keep up with pass year's result

I see the need to rank teacher performance to encourage healthy competition between teacher to teach better where in the end students benefit the most by having teacher really pushing students to score well

Malaysian version suck! ok maybe its still new but the way they present it is very uncool
the host Naz is too hyperactive some time and he is constantly reminding the girls to turn off their lights. poor single guy, the host Julie Woon interact with the girls to find out their opinion about the single guywhich is good but the girls don't really get to asks questions to know more about the guy, they only can judge him through his look and the video made on him.....very one way communications but i guess its the smart thing to do because sometime people ask sensitive questions and the host need to deflect it creatively which is not easy and need experience and skills which I don't think Naz is up to it quite yet.

the Chinese version on NTV7 every Saturday at 6pm was in my opinion a better version, that was more organize and polish. here is some more info about it

The basic concept of the show is that 24 girls will stand in a line, each atop a podium with a light hanging over their head. Facing them is one boy, who will at first secretly choose one of the girls to be his date. Then, he reveals some basic information about himself, after which each of the girls will decide whether he is ‘date-worthy’ or not.

If a girl doesn’t like him, she will turn the light above her head off. If all 24 lights go off, the boy loses. If some lights remain on after the boy’s introduction, the boy may choose two or three of the girls for ‘future communication’. He also has the option in this case to choose a girl who turned her light off.

Finally, with three girls left, the boy will ask another round of questions, after which he will make his final choice. If the girl accepts, they may walk towards each other, join hands, and head off into the sunset for a future date and possible romance.

I am still single so I can relate to some of these guys here trying to find love in this show
so modern day cupid? a show that help people find love is kind of interesting. see what attract girls and what put girls off about a guy is wort a watch right?

a memo sent to ISPs by the regulator of Internet industries in Malaysia, all service providers have been ordered to completely block various file-sharing sites including The Pirate Bay, MegaVideo and other hosting services. The move follows an April statement by the country's Prime Minister in which he promised his administration would never censor the Internet.
The regulation of the communications and multimedia industry in Malaysia is handled by SKMM the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission. Under a 1998 Act of the same name, the Commission is empowered to carry out a range of functions, several of which are law-related.
According to SKMMs website, the Commission has the power to implement and enforce the provisions of the communications and multimedia law, regulate all matters relating to communications and multimedia activities not provided for in the communications and multimedia law and to recommend reforms to existing law.

SKMM is clearly a powerful organization and if a document uncovered by Wirawanweb.com is authentic (and it appears to tick all of the necessary boxes), its considerable muscles have just been flexed against online copyright infringement. The memo, titled Request For Action Under Section 263(2) of The Communications and Multimedia Act CMA 1998 (the legislation that gives SKMM its powers) appears to order all of Malaysias ISPs to immediately block a number of high-profile file-sharing related sites, as listed below:

An MCMC spokesperson confirmed the ban and said it was done on the request of the Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism Ministry.

The reason for the ban? To combat piracy. Apparently, the above websites were among the most visited sites by Malaysians to illegally download movies.

When asked about surfers who legally use the sites for storing non-pirated content, the ministry's enforcement division director-general Mohd Roslan Mahayudin said they will look into any appeal made.

Interestingly, the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) Malaysia Bill of Guarantees states that the Government will not censor the Internet.

Pay myPTPTN loan

I finish paying my study loan today. finally I am debt free. my parents ask me to pay it bit by bit but I just want to get it done and over with, the fee you have to pay each month is RM65 for my load with PTPTN and that's a lot of money.

A lot of people are not paying back their loan and the management for PTPTN loan is terrible, the only thing they are good at is counting how much additional money you owe them each month.

I personally feel that I should pay back what i owe. even though I did not pay much (virtually nothing) these past 4 years after i started working but I was not in the infamous Black-list of people that refuse to pay.

This study loan help me a lot during my days in University when i did not have much and my family was unable to give me much. It has help me study in university worry free about money and God know how much my mom reminded me there was no money constantly.

I used to have to work during my university holidays (tuition and as a waiter) and during festivals like Chinese New year I was unable to go back (no$$$) but at least my parents did not ask me to give them money from my study loan.

I am grateful and thankful for what I have been given and now that I have repay all that I owe and hopefully the money will do some good for other students in need of a study loan.

Holiday in Melaka

was in melaka last Thursday 20/10/2011 for my brothers convocation.
its a great place to visit, with lots to see lots to buy and lots to eat
most of all a lot of pretty girl everywhere you look, I truly think i will be going back again for another visit someday.

convo Utem

My brother is going to attend his convocation this Saturday (22/10/11) in Utem Malacca. city of history, I uses to do my practical in this state so was really looking forwards to a visit but too bad I have to work and can't take a long holiday. during my convo (2007) my parents did not come see it and now after 4 years its my brothers turn and with a little bit more money they will be going to his convocation.

Convo is a big event, some thing to be remembered and it could be the only thing we hold on to about our study days year to come. as a university grad it makes us feel like we have study almost all we can study in our education system (well that is what I feel personally anyway)

Been there done that, so good luck and congrats have fun, enjoy.

will be flying to KL this Thursday and coming back on Monday its short but hopefully it will be a sweet experience.

speaking practice for muet

last week practice for muet speaking(10-13 October). that's me with the stopwatch. it was a very mentally draining and even though I just need to sit and listen but at the end of the day I feel like sleeping as soon as I come home. listening really need you to pay a lot of attention without attention your mind would drift and may not be able to follow the students flow of ideas and their mistake and thus would not be very helpful in giving comment and help them improve their speaking later in the real examination. even though it was mentally draining I did learn a lot from my partner for the speaking task (face not shown) she pick up a lot of things that i was unable and unaware of when students was doing their speaking and it made me a better listener (well that is what i think anyway) so I did learn a thing or two from this week not just the students that came for help but me as well.

Windows-8 vNext

seven and now windows 8 coming next year 2012. now i have not use window 7 that much still using Xp but may feel like using windows 8 if it come out simply because I like the number 8

Light OS Windows 8 has a sleek look with the smooth scrolling and the latest demo and touch function seems to work very smoothly. even faster than Windows XP in many of the results.

Windows 8 (codename Windows vNext) is the next version of Microsoft Windows, if it is named vNext similar to Xp and vista not using number but alphabets, hopefully it will be good as XP not like Vista. if it uses the number 8, I think will be the smarter move. a lot of Chinese may love it because of the number 8. well i will wait and see how things go. I like XP but a change will be nice. I've tried Linux and like it but like most feel more comfortable with windows but that could change if windows fail to be competitive and innovative or Apple become cheaper and ubiquitous or Linux become more user friendly which is quite near right now...who know what will happen but computers are here to stay and it will need good OS and those who can provide it will continued to be rich
